This is for a lot of different
-I now have a 9-5 job that I really enjoy as the Content Manager for a men's dating advice site.
-I have a wonderful girlfriend who is amazing in a whole bunch of different ways. We like doing things together. Deal with it.
-The Rams moved to L.A. Whatever football nonsense you had formerly enjoyed here would've been gradually replaced with a bunch of rants against Stan Kroenke, Kevin Demoff, and Roger Goodell.
While these could've been entertaining given enough booze... it's not really my thing.
How a Starving Author Learned "Certain Skills"... That He Can Use to Help YOU...
Plus in my "new" position (that I've had for a year now), I've found that "random guy writing about sports, writing, and a bunch of other random things" isn't a great way to run a website.
I've actually learned a TON running the site... about copywriting (I was "somewhat undertrained" when I started)... about search-engine optimization... about writing writing...
And all of it has combined to create a very profitable site in a competitive niche in a little less than a year (the site I work for launched February 1, 2016).
Through it all, I've learned a lot about myself too. I've learned that more than anything, I enjoy helping people.
I love helping a formerly "hopeless" guy with the ladies find a new girlfriend. I enjoy every comment I get on my posts about "solving the Scrivener em-dash smart quote problem" and "Amazon Associate IDs made easy."
And where do people need the most help these days? Making money to support their families.
Hey, I've been there. I was a borderline starving freelancer a few short years back, wondering where the next gig would come from.
If you're lucky enough to have a job, odds are that you (and your family) would be better served by making more cash.
I don't say this in a "greedy" sense or anything like that. I just know what staring at that credit card statement can be like... worrying that the balance keeps going up and up every month... and wondering where the hell I'm ever going to get the cash to pay it off.
And if you don't have a job? You're probably looking for something to latch onto. A life preserver in a dark and stormy sea of uncertainty (a sea I know all too well).
In either case... unless you're already making mid-6-figures, you probably could use a little more "folding money." Or some cash to contribute to a 401(k). Or to your kid's college fund. Or just to travel or have more fun!
And now that I have these skills... now that I've started something from scratch, and grown it to a point where we can support a team of 4+ employees... I'm going to give you something very exciting.
I want to teach you how to double your income!
I'll be up-front: this isn't some kind of "get rich quick" scheme. It took us 7 full months to become profitable in my day job. And those 7 months were packed with nights where I wondered if we were ever going to make it...
But the good news is that now that I've been through that doubt and that worry... and made it out the other side with several simple, easily copied systems... YOU don't have to worry nearly as much!
Plus did I ever mention that I used to write resumes professionally? Well I did... so if you're the sort who's content with having a day job, I can help you find a better one... or get a higher salary at your current job.
One more thing: you might be wondering WHY I'm doing this... outside of, you know, helping people.
It's a good question... and the short answer is that I'm looking to start a family in the next couple of years. Families can be expensive (or so I'm told)! There's more food to put on the table... saving for school... bigger cars... all that good stuff is, if not staring me in the face, at least starting to make some sidelong glances at me.
Because these skills I now have are valuable, I'm going to be up-front and let you know that this site is going to be one of those revenue streams going forward.
But much like Pat Flynn over at Smart Passive Income, I'll bring you along on this journey, with full transparency as to what's going on.
What I'm making... what projects I'm working on... I'm going to share all of that with you going forward.
So if you're still with me... buckle up! It's going to be a heck of a ride!
